I may still have the software I wrote, but it will be in an older version of visual studio and it talked to a MicroLogix over the serial port so I don't think it would be useful for you. It may have been Advanced HMI but if it wasn't, it was something very similar.
Have you tried it? A few years ago ok, about 8 or soI made a program to get data out of a MicroLogix PLC using an add-on to visual studio. Sorry, I don't have time to test this method. Posted 4 Jan If you are available, you may check for me.

Sorry, I can't try your zip file on my work computer. I think your issue is, it will not work with RSLinx Lite. This method should work Ok with your Compactlogix. A couple years ago, I read data from a Compactlogix 元2E to Excel, basically using the method in the first link. I added a zip file about communication between excel and controllogix. Can do it withour rslink? Because, I have rslink and all rockwell software studio,rslogix,factorytalk,rslink and license etc. I have tried it but it wasn't work with compactlogix, also I am not sure that it is work with controllogix. This can be done in two ways using a DDE link and using Macros. We need to start MS Excel and tell it what the topic is and we are set. We are now ready to start a DDE communication. You will need to configure a topic in RSLinx. Before you proceed, check to make sure that the PLC is online. Enable DDE communication in the computer. Ensure that the PLC and the computer are connected to the Ethernet. DDE can be used to exchange data between two programs. For an industrial engineer, sometimes there arises a need to import process data to a computer for manipulation.
